England want to use all players

ISLAMABAD, Oct 28: England want to employ all their 14 available players during next week’s three-day tour match against a Patrons XI in Rawalpindi. A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said England captain Michael Vaughan had asked permission to use more than the normal 11 players in the game, which starts on Oct 31.

Although England have a 16-member squad for the three-test series, Andrew Flintoff and Steve Harmison are not due to join the team until next week.

The Patrons IX boasts several Test players, including Yasir Hameed, Asim Kamal and Faisal Iqbal.

England have one other three-day game, against Pakistan ‘A’, starting on Nov 6 in Lahore, before the first test in Multan from Nov 12.—Reuters
