LAHORE, Oct 27: Test all-rounder Abdul Razzaq will not be available for the first Test against England as he has been ruled out for three weeks cricket due to right-elbow injury.
Razzaq, a key player of the team could bowl only four balls in the four-day trials match at the Qadhafi Stadium on Thursday, before pain forced him to leave the ground.
The medical test revealed that his elbow’s tissue had been damaged and he requires three weeks rest.
Razzaq, a veteran of 37 Test scoring 1523 runs at an average of 27.69 and taking 77 wickets, is also a valuable player for ODIs in which he had scored 3800 runs from 196 matches at an average of 30.07, also taking 221 wickets. Razzaq said that he would remain with the team to keep continue light training.
The first Test is scheduled to be held at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan from Nov 12.
Captain Inzamamul Haq said that the team would definitely miss Razzaq in the first Test but added that it was good that the cause of injury had been detected well in time, otherwise, it could have aggravated.
