KESC hold Hanif Khan XI
KARACHI, Oct 27: Arif Hussain’s second half equaliser helped KESC force a 2-2 draw with Hanif Khan XI in the Ramazan Hockey Khursheed Benefit tournament at UBL Sports Complex on Thursday.
Talha Ghauri opened the scoring for Hanif Khan XI with a 14th-minute strike before Arif equalised in the 25th minute.
Interestingly, Ahmad Alam, former Pakistan goalkeeper, netted the second in the 40th minute for Hanif Khan XI while playing as centre-forward. Arif came into action two minutes later to level the scores.
Azhar Ahmad struck twice in Zubair XI’s 4-1 victory over National Club.
The winners went ahead through Shabbir Ahmad in the 10th minute, while Azhar found the target in the 22nd minute.
National Club got consolation with a Kamran Ashraf goal in the 42nd minute.
Irfan Sheikh was on target in the 48th minute, while Azhar completed the tally with his second in the 55th minute.
