NAWABSHAH, Oct 27: The executive district officer (education) on the directives of District Nazim Faryal Talpur has suspended two primary school-teachers nominated in an FIR for kidnapping a Hindu girl in Sakrand town.

The assistant district education officer of the Sakrand taluka, Mr Mohammad Khan Mari, said: “Suspension letters of PSTs Abbas Ali Unnar and Imtiaz Ahmed Mehar, nominated in the FIR relating to kidnapping of Amrita Kumari, were issued on Thur-sday from the date of incident i.e. October 24”.

QAUEST: The administration of the Quaid-i-Awam University of Engineering Science and Technology has accepted demands of officers and Employees Welfare Association Forum.

According to a press release issued by the QUEST teachers, officers and employees welfare association forum, after successful discussion between the administration and representatives of the association genuine demands were accepted by the administration.

Teaching staff and employees have expressed satisfaction on acceptance of their demands and decided to work jointly with the present administration of university for betterment of institution.

RELIEF GOODS: Some 13 trucks and one C-130 plane carrying relief goods for earthquake victims in Kashmir, the NWFP and Punjab were sent from Nawabshah.

This was informed by DCO Abdul Razzaq Qureshi while talking to this scribe on Wednesday.

The DCO said that three more trucks carrying goods for relief and about 5,000 blankets and bedspreads would be sent in coming week.

Meanwhile, DCO Abdul Razzaq Qureshi visited a cotton factory at the 60-Miles road on public complaint regarding the spread of pollution by cotton factory and causing diseases.

The DCO directed the owner of cotton factory to install a filter plant within one week so the public may get relief.
