By Abdul Sami Paracha

KOHAT, October 27: It now confirmed that three people, including an army personnel were kidnapped while they were on way from Thall to North Waziristan Agency on Thursday.

Their vehicle was found abandoned near Spinwam area of North Waziristan on Thursday morning.

They had gone missing on October 21. On Thursday the kidnappers left the vehicle on the road which confirmed the apprehension that all the three had been kidnapped.

An officer of the Thall Scouts, while giving details of the incident, said that Abdul Hadi, an MES meter reader posted in Thall Fort, government contractor Sartaj and his driver Sar Zameen Khan had left Thall, an army cantonment in Hangu district, on October 21 for some official work.

They, however, did not reach Mir Ali tehsil of the North Waziristan Agency where they were to report.

They were presumed to have been kidnapped, but the authorities received no demands for ransom. However, after finding their vehicle abandoned on a road, the authorities confirmed their kidnapping.

An official in Thall said that the motive of the kidnapping appeared to be ransom but so far no contact had been established by the alleged captors.

It was learnt that the kidnapped contractor was carrying Rs600,000 with him. However the political authorities found only Rs83,000 hidden under seats.
