KARACHI, Oct 25: Five ships carrying steel bars, containers and trucks are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where six ships, Bunga Kenari, Jang Jiang He and Iran Shahryar to unload and load containers, Darya Hai to offload DAP fertilizer, Fiona-7 to offload steel cargo and Shalmar to unload crude oil were berthed after the departure of as many.

The ships, which departed on Tuesday included Selcon, Wester Muehlen, Thor Captain, Helene Selmer, Muhieddin-1 and Johar, while Jang Jiang He, Bunga Kenari, Pacific Sun-2 ,Pacific Acadian, Shalamar, Hun Jiang and Maersk Arizona are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 92,394 tons comprising 7,765 tons of export cargo including 1,945 tons of rice and 84,629 tons of import cargo, which also included 5,410 tons of sugar was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Hyundai Highway, Y.M. Sun, Jade Trader, with containers, Iran Yammin, with 10,000 tons of steel bars and Nan King, with 146 trucks.
