IT returns filing date extension sought

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Oct 25: The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has appealed to Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz to issue direction for an extension of date for filing of income tax returns up to December 31.

ICCI President Abdul Rauf in a statement on Tuesday said the business community remained busy in providing relief to the earthquake victims and businesses in Kashmir, Abbotabad, Mansehra and the NWFP were badly affected, therefore date for filing returns should be extended.

The CBR has already extended the date for filing of income tax returns up to October 31. The last date for filing of income tax return was September 30.
