Shock victory

KARACHI, Oct 24: Pak Independent CC pulled off a shock four-run victory over fancied Shaheen Gymkhana to qualify for the final of the ninth Danish Trophy Ramazan cricket tournament at the KGA Ground on Monday.

Needing 148 for victory, Shaheen Gymkhana were restricted to 143 for six in 20 overs.

Pak Independent CC now await the winners of Saturday’s second semifinal between KGA Gymkhana and Saddar Town.

PAK INDEPENDENT CC 147-6 in 20 overs (Zamin Ali 44, Jameel Ibrahim 34; Mohsin Akhtar 3-18, Shaukat Rajput 2-26); SHAHEEN GYMKHANA 143-6 in 20 overs (Abdul Rahim 32, Mohammad Salman 23).

Second semifinal: KGA Gymkhana v Saddar Town on Saturday.
