Danyal lifts Customs CC

KARACHI, Oct 24: Danyal Ahsan stroked a match-winning half century to help Customs CC to a convincing six-wicket victory over Baqai Dolphins (BD) in the 20th Karachi Gymkhana (KG) Ramazan Cricket Festival 2005 on Monday at KG.

Danyal slammed 57 off 43 deliveries as Customs CC achieved the target with more than two overs to spare.

He blasted four boundaries and three huge sixes and was later named Man-of-the-Match.

He received good support from Javed Mansoor (29), Shahid (25) and Javed Qadeer (25). Yousuf (3-44) took the bowling honours for Dolphins.

Earlier, BD were restricted to 160 for nine wickets in stipulated 25 overs. Tahir Mehmood and Faraz Patel did most of the damage to BD’s batsmen as both snatched four wickets each.

Tahir gave away 29 runs while Faraz conceded 26 runs in his four-wicket haul. Asad Bashir (72) runs was the top scorer for the losers.

Customs CC beat Baqai Dolphins by six wickets
