Water quality in Abbottabad, Mansehra good: PCRWR

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Oct 24: The Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) on Monday said the condition of drinking water in the earthquake-hit areas of Abbottabad and Mansehra had been found satisfactory, but the situation was not good in Azad Kashmir.

Data collected by ten field teams dispatched by the PCRWR to Abbottabad, Mansehra, Balakot, Battagram, Rawlakot, Muzaffarabad and Bagh have revealed that the drinking water condition in AJK had deteriorated to a large extent. The PCRWR teams were tasked with monitoring water resources, rehabilitation of water supply structures and installation of two filtration plants of 48,000 litres per day capacity at Muzaffarabad.
