KARACHI, Oct 24: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on Monday arrested an officer and his personal assistant for their alleged involvement in irregularities and corruption in the affairs of the Karachi Building Control Authority.

The ACE got an information that Akhlaque Ahmed, officer on special duty also holding charge of Controller KBCA and the Coordinator, had been allegedly involved in corruption. The ACE had put a watch on his movement and found that Akhlaque Ahmed had retired from his service in 2001. He was given extension of two years which also expired but he continued to work on the three positions.
