Mr Guntram was accompanied by Martin Kruska, head Climate Change Services of EUTECH, a leading German company dealing in energy management.

He said that GTZ was interested to undertake a three-year programme basing upon the technical assistance with financial support for enhancing the scope of renewable energy and energy efficiency in Pakistan.

Main partners in this project are Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) and National Energy Conservation Centre (ENERCON) and Ministry of Environment, he said, adding that GTZ was keen to learn the real needs of SMEs for energy. He called for a close coordination with SMEDA for this purpose.
