Shani shines in Venice
VENICE (Italy), Oct 23: Qatar’s Hassan Mubarak Shani won the 20th edition of the Venice marathon here on Sunday ahead of former compatriot Paul Lokira of Kenya.
Kenya-born Shani clocked 2hr 09mins 22secs with Lokira finishing in 2:10:18. Italy’s Francesco Ingargiola was third in 2:10:25 with Olexandr Kuzin of Ukraine finishing in 2:10:54.
Another Kenyan, David Kirui, was fifth in 2:12:21.—AFP
