Azam hits century

KARACHI, Oct 23: Azam Khan scored a dazzling century to propel Apparel Net to a 33-run win against ABN-Amro Bank in the 1st AKU Sports and Rehabilitation Centre Twenty20 Ramazan Colour-kit cricket here the other day.

Azam made an unbeaten 101 with the aid of 11 fours and four sixes as Apparel Net made 237 for four.

ABN-Amro, in reply, were restricted to 204 for six despite Aamir Aziz’s aggressive 66 not out – a knock that included four sixes and as many fours.

The bankers, however, were lucky in their next match when they defeated International Power by 72 runs. Aamir stood with 52 as the bankers made 195 for six.

Rashid (3-14) and Moazzam (3-22) then took bowling honours as International Power made 123 in reply.

ABN-Amro Bank beat International Power by 72 runs.

ABN-AMRO BANK 195-6 in 20 overs (Aamir Aziz 52, Zahid Raza 47, Zulfiqar Lehri 35, Clifford Lucas 25; Shahid Nawaz 3-46); INTERNATIONAL POWER 123 in 20 overs (Rehan Ahmed 30, Samiullah 21; Rashid 3-14, Moazzam 3-22).

Apparel Net beat ABN-Amro Bank by 33 runs.

APPAREL NET 237-4 in 20 overs (Azam Khan 101 not out, Aftab Ahmed 52, Mohammad Sohail 45); ABN-AMRO BANK 204-6 in 20 overs (Aamir Aziz 66 not out, Rashid Azeem 47, Umar Shafat 22; Atif Malik 3-33).
