Sikhs protest embezzlement of relief goods

TAXILA, Oct 23: Sikhs from the quake-affected area of Mansehra district, presently housed in Gurdwara Punja Sahib, held a demonstration against the alleged misappropriation of relief goods by two persons posing as members of Sikh Gurdwara Parapandhak Committee.

According to details, some Sikh elders found cartons of medicine and cooking oil, donated by the Hindu community from rural Sindh, missing.

The people accused the members of the committee of misappropriation, and staged a sit-in in front of Gurdwara Punja Sahib.

They sought immediate action against two Sikhs, named Muanjeeb Singh alias Pinka and Taran Jeet Singh, for their involvement in the misappropriation.—Correspondent
