Murder case registered

MIRPURKHAS, Oct 23: A murder case has been registered with Umerkot police on the complain of Kelash Kumar, son of the deceased Ram Lal.

On Sunday, advisor to the Sindh chief minister, Faqeer Jadim Mangrio, visited the residence of the deceased in Umerkot town and expressed his grief and sorrow and condoled with Kelash Maheshwari.

The leader of opposition in Sindh assembly, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro along with Taimoor Talpur, Javed Shah, Mahesh Malani and Mukesh Chawla visited residence of the deceased condoled with the bereaved family.

Mr Khuhro talking to reporters condemned the murder of Seth Ram Lal Maheshwari and said that Sindh government had failed to provide protection to lives and properties of the people.

Our Mithi correspondent adds: A complete strike was observed by shopkeepers in Mithi town on Saturday in protest against the murder of a cloth merchant Ram Lal Maheshwari in Umerkot a couple of days ago.

Ram Lal had gone to a Malkani landlord, Allahdad, in Allahdad Malkani village on the Kunri-Umerkot road to recover his debt.

His body was later found in the Otaq of the landlord.

Meanwhile, the Umerkot police have arrested some of the suspects including Deedar Panhwar, Ghulam Hyder Panhwar, Khamiso Mangrio and Urs Malkani, besides recovering the buried body of Ram Lal and conducted its post-mortem in Umerkot. Ram Lal’s murder has sparked resentment among the Hindu traders who have demanded a thorough investigation and exemplary punishment to the culprits.
