GILGIT, Oct 23: With a slight improvement in the law and order situation, the administration granted relaxation in curfew from 8am to 3pm here on Sunday.

A large number of people were seen in markets, shopping for Eid and buying commodities of daily use during the curfew break.

Security forces have established pickets atop multi-storey buildings to monitor the city situation.

Trucks carrying supplies were allowed to enter the city for offloading and traffic was seen on the city roads.

Sources said it was likely that the curfew would be lifted during daytime from Monday if no untoward incident occured. The curfew was imposed on Oct 13 following clashes between security forces and students.
