HYDERABAD, Oct 23: Jamshoro District Nazim Malik Asad Sikandar has called upon officials of the district government to perform their duties properly and regularly, failing which they could be sent packing.

He was speaking at a meeting of the district government officials at his office in Jamshoro on Saturday.

He said that four months had lapsed since the creation of Jamshoro district but the officials had failed to get the budget approved from the competent authority.

He said that as a new district, many a problem would naturally crop up but expressed the hope that all the problems would be resolved.

He said that times had changed and everybody would have to work within the parameters of the new local government system.

He said that as the district nazim, he had ceased to be a politician and was a representative of people of the entire district.

He urged the officials to give up their political leanings and work for the welfare of people of the entire district without discrimination.

He assured the district officials that all their genuine problems would be resolved in due course of time.

The DCO and EDOs, DDOs and other officials were present on the occasion.

Our Dadu correspondent adds: District Nazim Malik Asad Sikandar has said that development schemes will be launched in the far-flung areas of the district.

He was talking to government officers, UC nazims, naib nazims and councillors at his residence in Kotri on Sunday.

Malik Asad Sikandar directed the district officers to complete development schemes within stipulated period and take efforts for new budget of the district.
