KARACHI, Oct 23: Naib Nazim of Jamaat-i-Islami Senator Prof Ghafoor Ahmed has asked the government to stop victimization of its political opponents, who were being implicated in false cases.
Addressing a press conference at Idara Noor-i-Haq on Sunday, he alleged that the four innocent IJT students were arrested despite being granted bail by a court, they were not being released. He deplored that on Saturday, when they were supposed to be released on bail, some agency personnel whisked them away.
Earlier, JI city chief Dr Mairajul Huda Siddiqui said that four students — Abubakar, Junaid, Noman and Tanveer – were held on Aug 5 under a false 13-D case but police claimed they had arrested them on Aug 13. After remaining in custody for two-and-half months, they obtained bail on Saturday, he said, but their parents kept waiting for their release until they realized that some agency personnel had whisked them away.
