KARACHI: JI Sindh elects new council


KARACHI, Oct 23: The Jamaat-i-Islami, Sindh chapter, on Saturday announced the names of its new consultative council (Majlis-i-Shoora) elected through a secret ballot.

According to a JI press release, the new consultative council members are: Imdadullah Bijarani (Jacobabad), Prof Asim Memon (Shikarpur), Prof Masood Ali (Sukkur), Muhammad Ashiq Dhamirah (Larkana), Maulana Shabbir Ahmed Lashari (Ghotki), Dr Shamshad Qaimkhani (Mirpurkhas), Abdul Aziz Ghouri (Sanghar), Pir Syed Dawood Shah Jillani (Badin), Shaikh Shaukat Ali, Dr Fawad Ahmed, Abdul Waheed Qureshi and Hafiz Latifullah Bhutto (Hyderabad), Kamal Ahmed Farooqui, Abdul Salam and Muhammad Islam (Bin Qasim), Muhammad Hussain Mehnati, Raja Arif Sultan and Hafiz Abdul Waheed Shaikh (Karachi South), Saffat Ahmed Siddiqui, Hameedullah Khan and Muhammad Ashraf Awan (Karachi West), Shamim Pasha, Nasrullah Shaji, Asama Razi, Shahid Hashmi, Birjees Ahmed, Shaikh Rafique Ahmed, Dr Wassay Shakir and Prof. Shakeel Siddiqui (Karachi East), Muhammad Muslim, Syed Iqbal, Farooq Niamatullah, Syed Rasheed Ahmed, Dr Rafique, Niamatullah Khan Advocate, Muhammad Ahmed Qari, Maulana Abdul Rauf and Irfan Shah (Karachi Central).

The other members of this council would be JI Sindh Amir Dr Mumtaz Ali Memon, Naib Amir Mumtaz Hussain Sahito, Dr Merajul Huda, Abdul Ghafaar Umar and Rashid Naseem. The council is elected till October 2007. —PPI
