LAHORE, Oct 22: Despite a fighting knock by opener Sohail Ahmed, Lahore Shalimar were bundled out for a first innings total of 178 against Sialkot on the first day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League tie at the LCCA Ground on Saturday.
Asked to bat first, Lahore Shalimar made a solid start through openers Sohail and Ashfaq Ahmed who put on 58. But when Ashfaq was bowled by left-arm medium pacer Zahid Saeed for 29, the hosts lost six wickets in quick succession.
But Sohail, who made 85 with 11 fours and one six, then found good support from skipper Junaid Zia (27).
Zahid finished with four for 67.
By close of play, Sialkot were 26 for one.
