10-wkt haul by Rohail, Raza

LAHORE, Oct 22: A match winning haul of ten wickets by Rohail Younis helped Lahore Ravi beat Hyderabad by eight wickets in the National Under-19 Inter-region cricket championship at the Lahore Country Club, Muridke Ground on Saturday.

Set to achieve a target of 103, Lahore Ravi romped home by losing only two wickets in 23.5 overs.

Ravi, who earned a mammoth first innings lead of 105, bowled out Hyderabad for 207 in the second innings.

Rohail, who finished with six for 43 in the first innings, added four more scalps for 47 runs to make a match-haul of ten for 90 runs.

In another match, left-arm medium pacer Raza Rehman also snapped up 10 wickets to steer Lahore Shalimar to an innings and 47 runs win against Sialkot at the Saga Ground, Sialkot.

Sialkot resumed the second innings at 107-4 after follow-on but they were bundled out for 146 in 50 overs. Raza, who had taken six wickets for 21 in the first innings, captured four for 35 in the second innings to finish the match with 10 wickets.

Off-spinner Usman Malik also snapped up four wickets for 46 runs.

RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi cleaned up Karachi Urban by eight wickets at ARL Ground on Saturday to collect eight points from the thumping victory in the

Karachi Urban, 168 runs in arrears on the first innings, were bowled out for a second innings 319 on the final day after resuming on overnight 183-4, leaving a victory target of 152 runs.

Rawalpindi accomplished the task in 27.2 overs for the loss of two wickets, thanks mainly to Muhammad Ibrahim (53),Asif Khan (48 not out) and Awais (25).

In Karachi Urban’s second innings after follow-on, the notable contributions with bat came from Abdul Saad (73), Muhammad Hammad (55) and Awais Ahmed (25) as new-ball bowler Akhter Ayub captured 4-81 to take his match tally to eight wickets.

KARACHI: The match between Karachi Harbour and Islamabad petered out into a tame draw at the PCB Academy Ground. Set the almost impossible task of scoring 236 for victory the visitors finished at 85 for three in 27 overs. Opener Wasim Abbas stroked an unbeaten 54.
