Zafar and Ariz star for MG


KARACHI, Oct 22: Malir Gymkhana (MG) and Dewan Farooq Motors (DFM) notched up victories in their matches in the Aga Khan Gymkhana (AKG) Twenty20 Cup Ramzan at AKG Ground on Saturday.

Leg spinner Mohammad Ali Zafar captured three wickets for 13 runs to steer MG to comprehenive 92 runs victory over Aleem Sports.

Ariz Kamal slammed 59 with four boundaries and a six in his MG trimph.

Earlier in the first match, Dewan Farooq Motors (DFM) overpowered Universal Cables by 15 runs with Salman Khan hitting a match winning 46.

DFM batted first scored 137 for six wickets and in reply, Universal Cables were dismissed for 115.

Saqlain Raja was top-scorer (34) laced with two sixes and two fours.

DFM beat Universal Cables by 15 runs. DFM 137-6 in 20 overs (Salman Khan 46, Irfan Ansari 28, Adnan Kaleem 23; Yasir Burki 2-24)

Universal Cables 115 in 20 overs (Saqlain Raja 34, Yasir Burki 22; Nasir Owais 2-21).

MG beat Aleem Sports by 92 runs. MG 192-6 in 20 overs (Ariz Kamal 59, Imtiaz Safdar 45, M.Hasnain 18, Muhammad Ali 18; Fareed Hasan 2-33)

Aleem Sports 100 in 15.4 overs (Shahzaib 40, Kamil Khan 15; Muahmmad Ali Zafar 3-13, M.Hasnain 2-17, Tahir 2-10).—APP
