LAHORE, Oct 22: The 8th Lahore Winter Meeting features Saif Group Cup, a class IV division I handicap race to be run over the middle distance of 1600m at the Racecourse on Sunday.

Of the seven acceptors for the sixth race of the seven-event card, the bay English mare, Calendar Girl and the Pakistan-bred filly, Memmo stands out on breeding and performance-wise.

A well-built daughter of Revoque out-of-March Fourteenth, Calendar Girl, seems to have not so clearly inherited her bloodline ability while she is still struggling to get out of a bad patch and win a race in spite of being capable to do so.

The three-year-old Pakistani filly, Memmo, a daughter of Cisco Wells out-of-Lets Get Going, Memmo during the last season had to her credit three random victories and as much placing on the board.

Judging on her performances, her connections with rightly be expecting some more nice performances from her during the ongoing season. It is a wish yet to come true and may be on Sunday.

Both should be followed home by another English filly, Dixi Queen, a daughter of King Of Kings out-of-Dixie City, placed at top weight of nine stones four pounds.

The bay filly Baker Eye, who registered a facile victory, a fortnight ago, will be going all out to make it two in a row in the supporting and seventh race of the day to be gone over 1600m.

Baker Eye is owned by Khawaja M. Arif, who topped the list of highest stake-winning owners last season.

Propelled by the success of his stable, he is expecting the same this season. But the competition will be much stiffer and he would be lucky if his stable repeats last season’s success.

Rough Tough, Manu Janu and Green Street capture the attention in the fifth race, a class V division I handicap race to be gone over 1300m.

This should be a close contest between the three.

Chan Badshah, who was beaten in his outing last Sunday should make amends this time and win the fourth race, a class V division II to be gone over 1300m.

Well Minister, Take Off and Stride To Moment should fight for the frame.

In all, 78 runners are to vie for the seven events drawn for the meeting, barring last-minute withdrawals.

The first race will be held at 12.30pm.
