HYDERABAD: Kashmiri woman being treated in Jamshoro

HYDERABAD, Oct 22: Another woman, following an injured Kashmiri girl Shazia, from the Bagh district of Azad Kashmir was admitted to the Liaquat University Hospital, Jamshoro, on Thursday night.

Hassan Jan, the wife of Mohammad Idrees, who is an employee of the Lakhra Power House was injured on October 8 in the earthquake.

She was working in the house when roof fell over her due to the quake.

Following the incident Idrees brought his wife to Jamshoro for treatment.

Hassan Jan said her five children — Sajid, Abid, Naila, Maaz and Maooz — were playing outside the house when the quake hit the area.

Students of the Government Nazareth Girls’ College visited the hospital to comfort Shazia and Hassan Jan.

They remained with them for some time and presented bouquet and other gifts. The students also gave Rs6,000 to the injured.

Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr Khalid Qureshi said that Hassan Jan was shifted to the surgical ward where Shazia was being treated.

Meanwhile, a nine-member team of doctors headed by Dr Asadullah Makhdoom, an assistant professor of orthopaedics left for Muzaffarabad on Friday to treat the injured people.

Members of the team include Dr Ghazanfar Shaikh, Dr Pir Abdul Latif, Dr Zaheer, Dr Shakeel Khan, Dr Kashif Memon, Iftikhar, Abdul Ghaffar and Maula Bux.
