Cricket: Madni and Karim share honours


KARACHI, Oct 21: Ali Muhammad Madni took four wickets Muhammad Hussain CC’s (MHCC) emphatic seven-wicket win over Aleem Sports in the Aga Khan Gymkhana (AKG) Twenty20 Cup Ramazan cricket at AKG ground on Friday.

Off-spinner Madni claimed four wickets for 18 runs in four overs as Aleem Sports were shot out for 118 in 19.4 overs.

MHCC in reply achieved the target in 17 overs.

Amir Iqbal struck an unbeaten 33 with a six and a four. Karim Qasim’s all-round performance went in vain as AKG Green lost by 12 runs against Faraz Industries.

Karim snapped four wickets for 26 runs in Faraz Industries’ score of 158 for eight wickets. AKG Green managed only 146 for eight wickets in 20 overs with Karim Qasim smashing 58 off 26 bowls with five boundaries and four sixes.

Summarized scores:

MHCC beat Aleem Sports by seven wickets.

Aleem Sports 118 in 19.4 overs (Zeshan Jamil 52; Ali M. Madni 4-18, Sohail Mehdi 2-10).

MHCC 120-3 in 16.5 overs (Amir Iqbal 33 not out, Sajid Ali 29, Rizwan Khan 21, Waji uddin 20 not out; Iftikhar 3-17)

Faraz Industries beat AKG Green by 12 runs

Faraz Industries 158 for eight wickets in 20 overs (Ale-Haider 57, Ameer uddin 37; Karim Qasim 4-26, Amin Sultan 3-26).

AKG Green 146 for eight wickets in 20 overs (Karim Qasim 58; Iftikhar Khan 3-19, M. Iqbal 2-28).—APP
