Kashmiris of held valley want to visit AJK: Yasin
MUZAFFARABAD, Oct 21: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Yasin Malik visited different areas of the AJK capital, including two refugee camps, on Friday to console the victims of Oct 8 quake.
Mr Malik, who had travelled all the way from the occupied Kashmir along with over Rs10 million relief goods, spent Thursday night in a tent village set up at AJK University’s new campus to express solidarity with the quake stricken people.
Speaking briefly to Dawn, he said that although there had also been colossal losses on the other side of the Line of Control, the people in the held territory were more worried about their suffering brethren in AJK.
“Everyone wants to come here to help the victims and put his share in relief work here but the restrictions along the dividing line prevent them from doing so,” he said, adding that the Kashmiris had sent him with relief goods for the AJK people.
Mr Malik urged the quake victims to seek blessings of Allah in these hard times. He stressed the international community to send more aid for AJK so that survivors could be saved from falling victims to diseases.
