‘143 relief flights handled’

RAWALPINDI, Oct 21: Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has so far handled a total of 143 flights carrying relief goods for earthquake victim at Islamabad International Airport, Mr Mobarik Shah, a spokesman for the airport said on Friday.

CAA has waived off aeronautical charges worth Rs27 million on these relief flights.

Additionally, CAA donated Rs23 million cash to the government for relief efforts, the spokesman said.

The airport is being simultaneously used for routine air traffic and during the past 24 hours 70 normal flights were also handled.
