KARACHI: Lashkar man arrested

KARACHI, Oct 21: Police on Friday held an activist of Laskhar-i-Jhangvi after what they claimed an encounter in Orangi. Police said that the suspect was identified as Hafiz Qasim Rasheed belonging to Asif Choto group, having a head money of 500,000.

Police said that his accomplice Amjad Husain managed to escape. Police recovered two hand-grenades and a pistol from his possession. Police said that suspect was involved in an attempt to hit the office of CID Civil Lines, with a rocket, but it missed target.

Police said that suspect had fired the rocket from Hijrat Colony, with his accomplices Farooq Azam, Shehzad.

During interrogation, the suspect disclosed that he had planned to kill SP CID Fayyaz Khan and some informers after Ramazan.
