Doctor’s brother kidnapped

By Mohammad Iqbal

MARDAN, Oct 19: Elder brother of local psychiatrist Dr Farooq Khan has been kidnapped at gunpoint from Sheikh Maltoon town. However, his family is keeping mum about the incident.

Sources said that Inayat Khan, brother of Dr Farooq, was travelling in his car (MRI 4790) on Sunday evening when unidentified men waylaid him near the town and forced him away at gunpoint.

His car was later found parked near Jalala 0village on the main highway, a suburban village of Mardan.

Jalala is situated near Skhakot, a town of Malakand, reputedly a safe haven for kidnappers and hired assassins.

Inayat Khan runs a medicine shop at his brother’s clinic on the Swabi Road near Muqam Mandi Mardan. His family has kept the matter secret and so far not registered an FIR in any police station of the district.

Despite efforts, no contact could be made with the victim’s family.

A teenaged girl was kidnapped from Shahbaz Garhi. Her father has alleged that Raham Gul and a woman Tajmeena had a hand in the incident. Police have arrested the woman while hunt is on for Raham Gul.
