FM broadcasts in quake-hit areas urged

ISLAMABAD, Oct 19: Civil society activists on Wednesday urged the government to allow setting up of FM radio stations in the earthquake-hit areas of Azad Kashmir and the NWFP to disseminate information to the affected people on various issues.

Representatives of lawyers community, journalists and civil society organizations made the plea at an interface discussion on “Role of media in the post-disaster regime: legal options”, organized by Internews Pakistan in collaboration with the USAID.
