KARACHI, Oct 18: Two container ships were berthed at the QICT during the report period. Meanwhile, two more ships carrying chemicals and edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 78 per cent as seven ships, Cape Scott, Sealand Independence, Eburna, Lion Princess, Aonoble, YK Taurus and Esna, were busy in loading and unloading containers, edible oil, jute, sugar, coke and seeds.

A cargo volume of 50,519 tons comprising 36,239 tons of import and 14,280 tons of export tonnage was handled. Sailing was active as YK Taurus and Ensa left the port while Cape Scott was due to depart. Three ships, Pacific Sound, Pine Galaxy and Anna-A, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
