PFA to set up women’s wing

LAHORE, Oct 17: The Punjab Football Association (PFA) will set up its women’s wing to promote the game. This was disclosed by PFA chairman Arshad Khan Lodhi during a ceremony held on Monday to award cash prizes to the Punjab women’s team for winning the first national women’s championship held in Islamabad last month.

He said that women’s wing would go to every district to select the best players to keep supremacy at the national level.

Arshad, also the secretary of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) said that the women’s wing at the federation level would also be set up soon.

He said that FIFA was very interested in promoting women’s football. Each member of the winning squad including players, coaches, manager received Rs 10,000 each.
