GUJRANWALA, Oct 17: All Pakistan Clerks Association (Apca) has protested against the district accounts office for not releasing their GP fund and salaries in time. At a meeting held here on Monday presided over by Apca information-secretary Jamil Ahmad, the participants alleged that the account officer-I was not taking interest in solving their problems and remained absent from the office for several days. As a result of which, salaries of employees and GP fund could not be released in time.
The clerks threatened that they would go on strike if their genuine demands were not met.
HUMAN SMUGGLER: An elementary teacher was arrested on Monday by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) passport cell following his involvement in human smuggling. Reports said Mahmood Akbar Cheema allegedly received Rs250,000 each from some youths to send them Greece. But neither he returned the money nor sent them abroad.
