KARACHI: BSE to hold composite exam

Published October 18, 2005

KARACHI, Oct 17: In line with a decision of the federal government, the Board of Secondary Education, Karachi, has decided not to conduct annual examination, 2006, for students who are at present studying in Class IX in schools affiliated with the board.

Instead, according to a senior official, the board would hold a composite examination of 10 papers in 2007. The Class IX students would be promoted to Class X after a home examination.

Those who are, at present, studying in Class X and have taken Class IX examinations would be required to appear as per previous schedule in 2007.

It has further been learnt that enrolment for composite examination would be carried out in 2006. The students would be required to pay their composite examination fee in two instalments (2007 and onwards).

Those already enrolled with the board would be asked to pay fee for composite examination in two instalments as per their convenience.

The enrolment forms which have already been accepted for SSC Part I Examination 2006 will now be valid for the first composite examination, 2007.
