ISLAMABAD, Oct 17: The 11th meeting of the Committee of Experts on South Asian Free Trade Area (Safta) will meet on Tuesday in Kathmandu to develop consensus on the remaining issues of the agreement.
An official announcement issued here on Monday said that the meeting was earlier scheduled to be held in Islamabad but due to the earthquake the venue had been shifted to Nepal.
Pakistan’s official delegation led by Joint Secretary Commerce Shahid Bashir had left for Nepal.
The agenda items to be discussed include sensitive list of member states, mechanism of compensation of revenue loss for the LDCs and rules of origin. It was expected that final decision would be made on these three agenda items.
