KARACHI, Oct 17: Nine ships carrying coal, tallow and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where eight ships were berthed: They are: Corin Thaikos, to unload and load containers, Pacific Acadian, Great Morning, to offload DAP fertilizer, Shamrock Moon and Golden Oceania, to load naphtha, Torm Sara also to load naphtha, Luaren, to unload chemicals, and Lalazar, to offload crude oil.

Eight vessels, Kota Tabah, T.M.M. Hidalgo, You Mei, Chem Bothina, Shamrock Moon, Mearsj Taiki, Sea Beta and Shalamar departed on Monday, while Ain Oussera, Islamabad, Northern Lights, Bright Sun, Lauren, Pu He, Golden Oceania, Corin Thaikos, Lalazar and Torm Sara are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side, thanks to larger handling of liquid tonnage. The tonnage rose to 0.160m tons comprising 32,394 tons of export cargo, including 4,278 tons of rice and 1,632 tons of cement and 0.128m tons of import cargo, which also included 5,125 tons of sugar and 17,178 tons of DAP fertilizer.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Eax Sanctity, H.S. Discoverer, Maersk Aizona, APL Daoam, Argount, with containers, Helene Selme, Ocean Flourish, with 38,000 and 34,700 tons of DAP fertilizer, Sichem Caribean, with 6,200 tons of tallow and Golden Falcom, with 2,500 tons of steel cargo.
