‘Pakistan has to fight’


KARACHI, Oct 16: Pakistan coach, Bob Woolmer on Sunday said that Pakistan had to fight hard in all departments of the game against in-form England side in the upcoming home series.

Talking to reporters at National Stadium, Woolmer said “We have to give extraordinary performances in bowling, batting and fielding departments in order to win the series against English side that recently beat world champions Australia in Ashes Series.”

The England team is due to arrive on Oct 26 to play three Test matches and five One-day Internationals.

He said that England possessed quality players like all-rounder Flintoff and fast bowler Harmison who on their day could alone become a match winner and at the present time the Vaughan side looked invulnerable.

On Shoaib Akhtar’s recent performance in Super Series against Australia, the Pakistani coach said his recent performance for World XI against Australia did not bother him and added that he would look up his (Shoaib’s) performance and fitness in practice matches before the start of series.—PPI
