ISLAMABAD, Oct 16: Elections of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), scheduled on October 22, has been postponed till November 26. According to a spokesman this decision was taken in the executive committee meeting.

Elections will be conducted on November 26 and on 30th the official results will be announced.

It is also said that the annual general body meeting of SCBA will be held on November 19.

The spokesman said postponement of the apex bar’s elections was imperative due to the recent devastating earthquake in the country.

Meanwhile, some lawyers of the Supreme Court have criticized this decision and have termed the postponement illegal and contrary to the bar rules.—PPI
