Kidnappers want Rs4m ransom

QUETTA, Oct 16: Tribal elders of the Baraich tribe have urged the provincial government to take immediate steps to recover a man from his kidnappers who were demanding Rs4 million for his release.

Speaking at a press conference at the press club on Sunday, Haji Barkat Baraich claimed that his brother Haji Ali Gul Baraich had been abducted at gunpoint in Qila Abdullah a few days back.

He said that an FIR was lodged in the Qila Abdullah police station on the same day and the abductors were nominated in the report but the local administration had remained unsuccessful in recovering the kidnapped man.

Haji Barkat further said that now the abductors were demanding Rs4 million for his release and it was the responsibility of the government to arrest them.—Correspondent
