KARACHI, Oct 16: The Sindh Assembly session, when it meets on Monday at 9am, will resume discussion on the post-earthquake situation prevailing in Azad Kashmir, the NWFP and Northern Areas.
On Friday, which was the first day of the post-budget session of the Sindh Assembly, a resolution was unanimously adopted expressing deep sorrow and grief over the devastation caused and loss of precious lives and property in the Oct 8 earthquake.
The adoption of a resolution, in which the federal government was asked to announce a special package for reconstruction and rehabilitation in the devastated areas in the northern parts of the country, was followed by speeches of the Chief Minister, Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, Syed Murad Ali Shah of the PPP and Irrigation Minister Sardar Nadir Akmal Leghari, who expressed views on the tragic situation and highlighted the agonies and miseries of the earthquake victims.
Over a dozen more members from both sides of the House will pick up from where the discussion was left on Friday when Speaker Muzaffar Hussain Shah calls the House in order.
