KARACHI, Oct 15: Four horses are fancied to repeat their last winning performance when the Winter Gymkhana race meeting takes place at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

A card of seven races with the first six going over a sprinting distance of five furlongs and the last one over six, have been chalked out for the day. The first race begins at 12.30 pm.

The four likely to make it two in a row are ten-year-old mare, Khush Nazar, two-year-old colt, Moj-e-Arab, four-year-old half-bred, Azam the Great and seven-year-old, Order Of The day.

Khush Nazar, who won by three quarter length in the last meeting, is fancied to clinch the day’s opening race. Seven-year-old, Super Time, and nine-year-old mare, Taneez, should battle it out for places.

Syed Nadeem Anwar’s two-year-old colt, Moj-e-Arab, who was sprinted home by jockey Ghulam Shabbir II last time, is favourite to annex the second race.

As many as twelve contenders are in fray in the race which is restricted to Pakistani colts and fillies of two years. Chestnut, Moon Raker, and colt, Mir Sab, should pose threat to Moj-e-Arab.

In a pack of fourteen aspirants, four-year-old colt, Azam The Great, should run away with the honours in the third race. Four-year-old filly, Smiling Face and six-year-old, Cool Water, should battle it out for places.

Order Of The Day, who won in the last meeting by five lengths, should outpace the opponents to clinch the fifth race.

Chestnut, Scarface and filly, Bright And Early, are poised to attain second and third places.

Leo Again, a four-year-old colt, who was beaten to second place by Rahil Pearl, should make amends on Sunday while half-bred, Sher Garh and bay colt, Fakhr-e-Sanghar, should cross the finishing post ahead of other rivals in the last two races.
