20 huts burnt to ashes

NAWABSHAH, Oct 15: About 20 huts were completely burnt as fire broke out in the Mir village near Sardarabad on Saturday. The affected villagers were Mehmood, Dilmurad, Khamiso, Khairo, Noor Mohammad and others. They extinguished the fire themselves as the fire brigade reached late due to disconnection of their emergency number.

Sources said that the fire broke out when some children playing with a match box threw a burning stick on a hut.

RELIEF CAMPS: Relief camps continued to collect goods and cash from citizens at various places of Nawabshah on Saturday for the victims of earthquake. Most of the goods would be transported by the Indus Rangers to the affected areas of Kashmir, NWFP and Punjab.

ROBBERY: Some unidentified persons hypnotized a medical store owner, Pehlag Ram, in Qazi Ahmed on Saturday and took away cash of Rs30,000 and calling cards worth Rs22,000.
