PESHAWAR, Oct 15: The Election Commission has postponed the oath-taking ceremony of newly-elected local body representatives in the five quake-hit districts of the NWFP for two days, officials said.

Earlier, the commission announced that nazims and councillors-elect of districts, towns, tehsils and union councils would take oath in the four provinces on Oct 17.

An official said the commission issued a letter on Saturday according to which nazims and councillors-elect of the districts, tehsils and union councils in the quake-hit areas of the NWFP would take oath on Oct 19.

The five quake-hit districts in the province are: Abbottabad, Battagram, Kohistan, Mansehra and Shangla where the provincial government has declared emergency.
