KARACHI: Sindh cabinet, employees’ donation

KARACHI, Oct 15: The Sindh finance department on Saturday announced that all members of the provincial cabinet and employees of the provincial government from BPS-1 to BPS-22 and equivalent would contribute their one-day basic salary towards the President’s Relief Fund for Earthquake Victims-2005.

The deduction will be made at source from their salaries for the month of October 2005. The decision will also apply to the contractual government employees as well as those on lump sum pay package, including M-scales and MP-scales.

The amount of contribution would not be included in the emoluments of the concerned employees for calculation of income tax and deduction of the recovery of house rent.

The administrative departments have been directed to issue similar instructions in respect of the officers of autonomous/semi-autonomous bodies under their control.

All proceeds on account of the said deduction should be credited to the federal government account in the following heads of accounts: G-12 Special Deposit Fund; G-121 Relief Funds and G-2130 President’s Relief Fund for Earthquake Victims-2005.

SBC: The Sindh Bar Council (SBC) has collected Rs90,200 so far for relief assistance to quake victims. More funds are pouring in and officials of the AG Office and AAG are to contribute towards the fund.—APP/PPI
