BEIJING, Oct 14: The G20 meeting near Beijing this weekend will see the UK and US continue to push for a breakthrough in agriculture ahead of the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) Doha trade talks, British Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown said on Friday.

Brown said the protracted negotiations over the next round of trade liberalization will likely spill over into the forum, which will involve central bankers and finance ministers from about 20 developed and developing nations.

I think the biggest challenge of the next few weeks is to achieve a breakthrough in the world trade talks and I think we’ll be discussing at G20 what we can do to assist that process, he said at the opening of a British business office in the Chinese capital.
