HYDERABAD, Oct 13: The executive engineer of the Nasir irrigation division has put several water channels on the rotation programme due to the silt bar problem and absence of rains during summer and monsoon seasons.

According to the schedule Tando Allahyar-I distributary, Tando Allahyar-II distributary, Tando Soomro-I distributary, Bulghai distributary, DOs of Nasir branch from RD-0 to 90 both sides, Pir Sakhi-I minor, Pir Sakhi-II minor, Landhi-II minor, Chang minor, Basran-II minor, Khoski distributary, Aliabad minor, Gharo minor, Amerlo minor, Kamaro minor and Wagherji distributary will remain closed from October 12 to October 20.

BONDED LABOUR: Presiding over another meeting about the rehabilitation of bonded labour, the DCO asked the EDO community development to prepare a feasibility report for rehabilitation of children of bonded labour, preferably by providing facilities of technical training to them so that they could earn their livelihood on their own.

He said the proposals regarding establishment of housing scheme with provision of education and health facilities to bonded labour might also be worked out and submitted to quarters concerned so that financial assistance allocated by government could be utilized.

EDO (community development) Ibrahim Qureshi assured the meeting that he would submit his feasibility report about rehabilitation of children of bonded labour in a week.

EDO law Shamsuddin Sehto also attended the meeting.

The DCO presided over another meeting of the benevolent fund board at his office and approved 245 cases of financial assistance under the district benevolent fund.

As many as 246 cases were presented in the meeting out of which only one case was deferred while 69 cases of monthly maintenance allowances, 62 cases of funeral expenses, 64 cases of marriage expenses, 46 cases of medical aid, two delayed cases and two cases for restoration of family aid, applied by the government employees and heirs were approved for payment.

Addressing the meeting, the DCO directed the officers concerned not to create any difficulties for the poor employees but serve them without any discrimination.

DDO coordination, Aijaz Hussain, DDO human resources management Nosheen Usman and DDO administration Ghulam Rasool Leghari attended the meeting.
