Fine knocks by Ashraf and Sajid

KARACHI, Oct 12: Ashraf Ali and Sajid Hanif hit half-centuries as Mohammad Hussain Memorial Cricket Club (MHMCC) surprised a strong Malir Gymkhana by 60 runs in the Aga Khan Gymkhana Twenty20 Ramazan cricket tournament at the AKG Ground on Wednesday.

Ashraf (56 off 40 balls, four fours and two fours) and Sajid (55 off 49 balls, five fours) propelled MHMCC to 169 for six.

Opener Aamir Iqbal had earlier made 29 off 19 balls with the aid of four fours and one towering six.

Off-spinner Saif Khan captured three for 31.

Malir Gymkhana never looked like chasing the target as they lost seven wickets for 79 runs before ending their reply at 109.

Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif offered a return catch to slow left-armer Sohail Mehdi after scoring 35, a knock that was spiced with two fours and one six.

On Tuesday, Tapal CC recorded an easy seven-wicket win against Dewan Farooq Motors (DFM) after the latter were bundled out for 101.

Skipper Mansoor Khan completed a fine all-round performance with two wickets and 40 runs for the winners.
