LAHORE, Oct 12: City District Government Caretaker District Coordination Officer Khalid Sultan on Wednesday ordered winding up of unauthorized camps for collection of donations for the earthquake victims.

Addressing a meeting of the union council secretaries of the city district government, the DCO said that nobody was allowed to set up a relief camp for collection of donations for earthquake victims without proper permission. The camps set up without permission where loudspeakers were being used for soliciting donations were unauthorized and should be wound up.

He directed the union council secretaries to start a door-to-door campaign for collection of blankets or quilts for the earthquake victims and make arrangements for dispatch of donations collected at different camps in their areas to the Jinnah Hall for transmission to the earthquake affected areas.

The DCO also chaired a meeting of principals of colleges and directed them to collect donations for earthquake victims from students.
