Donation for relief efforts

ISLAMABAD, Oct 12: Global Multinational BP plc has committed $1 million to support Pakistan disaster relief efforts. The donation will be made through the BP Foundation, and will be administered through Unicef and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

In addition to the $1 million, BP Pakistan will make an immediate donation of $200,000 to the President’s Relief Fund. To further augment the relief effort, all global donation made and collected by BP employees for this disaster will be matched by the company.

FOOD AID: The international aid organization, Action Against Hunger, has announced that it will fly in 30 tons of food aid and water this week and send in a response team of water, sanitation and food security experts.
